Why do surface treatment?
There are many good reasons to give your item a surface treatment. When items are exposed to the elements, oils or chemicals, they will be very vulnerable if they are not surface treated. In addition, you can also make sure that the final product looks great if you choose a suitable finish. Below you can see our selection of surface treatments and read about the benefits of the various treatments.
Bead blasting
Bead blasting is a surface treatment where fine sand or glass grains are blown with pressure onto the surfaces of the workpiece. This means that all impurities on the surfaces are removed, which gives a crisp and matte appearance, which is pleasing to the eyes. In addition, bead blasting can make the item more susceptible to any subsequent treatments if desired.

Anodizing
Anodizing is a chemical surface treatment on aluminum that improves corrosion resistance, increases resistance to mechanical wear, and forms a non-conductive surface.
By anodizing, you can ensure that your item retains its high gloss and does not corrode over time. The surface of aluminum is generally born soft, and is therefore very susceptible to corrosion if the surface has not been treated. Over time, it could be noticed that untreated aluminum loses its shiny sheen, and becomes more gray.
You can easily add the surface treatment to your item by adding a finish to your purchase, where the options come in natural and various colors that you can freely choose from as needed.

Hard anodizing
You can also get a stronger anodizing, that hardens the surface significantly. The hard anodizing penetrates deeper into the surface of the workpiece, and thus provides both better chemical resistance and a harder surface. The hard anodizing is only available in black because the chemical process darkens the surface, but provides a nice finish.

Bead blasted + Anodized
If you are considering both sand / glassblowing and anodizing, this is also an option. You can get the matte, clean look, along with the invigorating surface treatment, in the same colors as with normal anodizing.
